If your group wants something more active than the hot tub, the Poconos have one of the biggest paintball parks in the world and several zip lines and treetop ropes courses, a few of them open all year.
Skirmish Paintball is in Albrightsville, close to our homes there and in Lake Harmony. Kalahari's Gorilla Grove is in Pocono Summit, and Camelback is a short drive from Long Pond and Pocono Summit. Height, weight and age limits are strict at every course, so check them before you book.
Paintball
- Skirmish Paintball, 211 N Meckesville Road, Albrightsville: 750 acres and more than 50 fields, billed as the world's largest paintball park. Equipment is provided and no experience is needed. It also sells rafting and paintball combos with Pocono Whitewater.
- Skirmish is open year-round. Hours change by season, roughly 9:30 or 10 AM to 4 PM in winter and as late as 6 PM in summer. On Mondays and Tuesdays in spring and winter you need at least 10 players, booked 24 hours ahead. Call 1-800-754-7647.
- Skirmish also hosts big scenario games during the year, like its summer Invasion of Normandy with thousands of players. If you'd rather have the fields to yourselves, ask about the event calendar first.
- Pocono Mountain Paintball, near Jim Thorpe and Nesquehoning, is another option. Check its schedule and group minimums before you go.
