Lake Harmony is the Poconos at its most convenient. Big Boulder ski area sits right on the edge of the community, Jack Frost is a short drive away, and the lake itself is one of the few in the area where powerboats and water-skiing are part of summer.
It's an unincorporated community in Kidder Township, Carbon County, roughly two hours from both New York City and Philadelphia, which makes it a favorite for ski weekends, summer lake trips and big family gatherings.
The lake
Lake Harmony covers roughly 125 acres and is privately owned. Unlike many Pocono lakes that are electric-motor-only, it's known for powerboating, water-skiing and jet-skiing in summer, and anglers fish it for bass, trout and perch. Boat rentals on the lake have run through Split Rock Resort, which is closed for renovations as of October 2026, so ask your host what's available.
Things to do nearby

Good to know before you book
Kidder Township requires every short-term rental to hold a township permit, carry liability insurance, pass inspections and follow occupancy limits based on bedrooms. That's good news for guests: permitted homes have been checked. Every host on our site is responsible for the home's township short-term rental permit. Your host will confirm house rules, occupancy limits and any community passes before you arrive.
