The Pocono ski season typically runs from early December to early March, and all six Pocono resorts aim to open in December. The homes below are closest to the Jack Frost and Big Boulder slopes in Lake Harmony, Blakeslee, Long Pond and Albrightsville, mostly 5–20 minutes away.
Big Boulder is about 2 hours 5 minutes from New York City and 1 hour 50 minutes from Philadelphia, close enough for a Friday-night arrival.
Ski trip tips
- Winter roads: mountain roads can be snowy, and 4-wheel or all-wheel drive is strongly recommended.
- Book holiday weeks (Christmas to New Year's, MLK and Presidents' Day weekends) well ahead.
- A hot tub and a game room make the evenings, so filter for both.
- Blue Mountain and Camelback are the other big resorts if your group wants variety.
