The Lazy Bear Cabin is a four-bedroom, two-bath Albrightsville vacation home made for families and friend groups of up to 12 who want plenty to do without ever getting back in the car. The biggest draws sit outside: a hot tub and a barrel sauna off the wrap-around deck, a pond to look out on, and an unusual lineup of extras that includes a dome, a bowling alley, a turf games area and a sand pit. If you have been hunting for a Poconos rental with hot tub and sauna that also keeps the kids busy, this one covers a lot of ground.
You come in on the lower level, a roomy living and game space that makes unloading the cars easy. The game area has a snooker table, arcade games, a poker table and a bar, so evenings tend to drift down here. The main floor holds the renovated kitchen with new stainless steel appliances, open to the living room so whoever is cooking stays part of the conversation, along with two bedrooms and a renovated full bath with a tub and shower. Upstairs are two more bedrooms and a second full bath: one room has a king bed, and the other has two sets of twin-over-twin bunks that kids usually claim first. Coffee drinkers get more than one coffee station, stocked with Keurig machines and tea.
There is a new grill, a deck big enough for dinner outside, a fire pit for evenings under the stars, and a playground for younger guests. Morning coffee on the deck comes with a view over the pond, and the hot tub and sauna are ready when everyone gets back from the trails or the slopes.
The cabin is well placed for four-season trips. Lake Harmony and the Jack Frost and Big Boulder ski areas are about 10 minutes away, Blue Mountain about 25, Camelback and Beltzville Lake about 30, Kalahari about 35 and Mount Airy Casino about 40, with hiking trails nearby. Practical details: free parking, air conditioning, washer and dryer, fast Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace for anyone who needs to log on. The indoor fireplace is decorative only. Pets are not listed as allowed, so check with the host before bringing an animal.
