Skirmish Paintball, in the woods of Albrightsville, calls itself the largest paintball facility in the world: more than 700 acres and over 50 maps, from dense woods, creeks and swamps to two castles, a town, shipping-container mazes, downed airplanes and speedball arenas. No experience is needed, it's open all year, and players must be 10 or older.
Our Albrightsville homes are minutes from the fields, and Lake Harmony is a short drive, so a bachelor party, a birthday crew or a corporate team can play all day and come back to a big house with a hot tub and a game room.
What's included
- Basic Admission: field entry, a rental marker, goggles and face mask, unlimited N2 air, free parking and referees who stay with your group all day.
- Paintballs aren't included: they're sold by the case on site, and only field paint is allowed. Book and pay at least a day ahead and each player gets 100 free paintballs.
- Upgrades: the Deluxe package adds paintballs, a padded tactical vest and a camo jumpsuit; the Elite package adds an upgraded marker too. Check current prices on Skirmish's rates page.
- Open play: come alone or as a small group and Skirmish builds teams, keeps your party together and matches you with players of similar size and skill.
The famous maps
- Tippmann Castle: the signature castle, with three-story towers, ramparts, catwalks and a siege tower.
- Empire Castle: a second, maze-like castle with pillboxes and its own siege tower.
- Tippmann City: a town of buildings and alleys, Skirmish's most-played map.
- Paris: the newest city map, built around an Eiffel Tower.
- Cargo (a maze of 10+ shipping containers), Airfield (downed planes and guard towers), Fort Skirmish (an Old West town), Firebase and The Alamo.
- Wooded maps for classic woodsball in rhododendron thickets and forest.
Big scenario games in 2027
- Stalingrad: March 27, 2027.
- 1970: Vietnam: May 22 and 23, 2027.
- Invasion of Normandy: July 9 to 11, 2027. Skirmish bills it as the world's largest paintball scenario game, with 4,000+ players.
- Scenario games have their own tickets and stricter cancellation rules; book early, and book your rental even earlier for Normandy weekend.
Groups and parties
- Private fields with your own referees for groups of 15+ (20+ on Saturdays); reserve and pay in full 10 days ahead.
- Bachelor parties: at least 10 players, pre-registered; the groom gets free paintballs, a T-shirt, an upgraded marker and a return pass. Bachelorette parties are welcome too.
- Birthday parties for adults and for kids 10 to 17, corporate team building, and youth and student groups.
- Combine it with rafting: Skirmish's sister company, Pocono Whitewater in Jim Thorpe, runs rafting-plus-paintball combo days.
Hours and season
Skirmish is open all year and plays in rain and snow. From April through Labor Day it's open every day (roughly 9:30 or 10 AM to 5 or 6 PM). Outside summer, it's usually closed Wednesdays and Thursdays, some weekdays need a minimum group booked ahead, and winter closing is around sunset. Skirmish recommends arriving by 10:30 AM, and calling ahead midweek.
What to bring and the rules
- Boots or cleats, long layers, clothes for the weather and a change of clothes (there are changing rooms).
- Field paint only, no First Strike rounds, and personal markers must shoot at 280 fps or under. Personal goggles must be full-face and rated for paintball.
- Weekend snack bar with burgers, chicken and fries; a limited pizza menu delivered midweek.
- If it rains or snows a measurable amount for more than half an hour while you play, you get a free pass to come back.
