The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway runs vintage trains from Jim Thorpe Station along the Lehigh River into the gorge. Fall foliage trains run in autumn and Santa trains in the holiday season.
Plan time to walk Jim Thorpe's historic downtown before or after your ride. Our closest homes are in Albrightsville, about 25 to 30 minutes away.
Types of trips
- Autumn Leaf trains: about 45 minutes, running September 26 to November 15 in 2026. This is the clearest published window for fall color.
- Regular trains: about 70 minutes round trip. In 2026 the regular schedule resumes November 16 to 26.
- Holiday Santa trains: about 80 minutes. 2026 tickets are on sale; see the Holiday Trains tab on lgsry.com for dates.
- Bike trains: the railway also runs Bike Trains; see lgsry.com for details. The Lehigh Gorge Trail is about 26 miles of crushed-stone rail-trail, mostly downhill from White Haven to Jim Thorpe.
