A private pool is rare in the Poconos, so these homes book up fast for summer. Some have heated or year-round pools, and most pair the pool with a hot tub, sauna or game room.
Many lake communities also have shared pools (usually Memorial Day to Labor Day), but nothing beats having your own.
Before you book
- Ask whether the pool is heated and when it's open. Some hosts need advance notice to heat it.
- Summer weekends go first, so book early.
- Pool safety: most homes don't have lifeguards, and children must be supervised.
