The Poconos were America's honeymoon capital, and the heart-shaped tub was invented here. Today a couples' weekend is more likely to mean a private hot tub, a fire in the fireplace and dinner in Jim Thorpe's Victorian downtown.
Every home on this page sleeps a small group and has a hot tub or fireplace, so it suits two (or two couples) without paying for a big group lodge. You book directly with the host, with no booking fees.
A bit of Pocono romance history
Morris Wilkins invented the heart-shaped tub in 1963 at Cove Haven on Lake Wallenpaupack, and Life magazine ran a photo of a couple in one in 1971. The champagne-glass tub followed in 1983. Today's couples mostly trade the heart-shaped tub for a private hot tub under the trees.
